Coffee Musings Under the Maple Tree

(Part 9)

-      Humility and pride are two sides of the coin. Remember that only a thin layer separates them. Sometimes we think it's one but actually it's the other. Discernment is needed as much as prayer. Communication is a way to be humble. Pride often is disguised in silence. Reach out.

-      Home is the only place I know that I am loved unconditionally. It is where my heart finds peace and my soul rests. There is really no place like home.

-      It used to be “if we could turn the hands of time.” With everything going on, it is now “if we could only speed up the clock.” The longing for peace of mind has become more urgent than it ever was.

-      Always acknowledge greetings from people. Avoid being rude or impolite. A smile brings joy to other people while it gives blessings to your soul.

-      Much as we would like to move on, we cannot just let go of the one whom we loved the most.

-      Worrying is part of human nature whether we like it or not. That is why there is an urgent need to deepen our faith and trust in God. Total surrender to God takes the worries away from our being.

-      Patience is a virtue that leads us to total surrender to God.

-      The pain of distance and the doubts it creates is minimized if constant communication is practiced. If we truly value the other, we always find time to communicate even when we are busy.

-      To be an instrument of reconciliation is a mission that comes from God.

-      True humility prostrates us not only in front of the Almighty but also in front of our fellow human beings.

-      One cannot say that the person loves God when one’s piety is not manifested in action. Deep faith in God is beyond a prayer room.
